| Redevelopment in the area around Tokyo Station is creating a new face for Japan’s capital city. MARUNOUCHI TRUST CITY, the latest project under development by Mori Trust, is located adjacent to Tokyo Station, the center of this redevelopment zone.
This project consists of two towers, the first of which—Marunouchi Trust Tower North—was completed in September 2003. Construction on the Marunouchi Trust Tower Main Building—surpassing Marunouchi Trust Tower North in scale—was completed in November 2008, as a multipurpose development project based on public planning for this designated Priority Urban Redevelopment Area.
Plans for this project call for the most exacting building specifications and, on its upper floors the preeminent hospitality of an international luxury hotel, the Shangri-La Hotel Tokyo—a combination that will make the most of the project’s superior location in the true center of Tokyo. This project will offer new, premium value to Japan’s capital city, with an environment as amenable to sightseeing as it is to international business.
This project also seeks to form an urban space that will make Japan’s capital city more attractive overall, housing cultural exchanges facilities to encourage sightseeing in the area as well as taking measures to encourage visitors to make excursions into the nearby district.
