| Locating in the center of Japan's Tohoku region, Sendai features an abundance of green environment and is known as "Mori no miyako ". It is also famous for rich cultural heritage which was developed over years of changing times. Sendai is a very attractive city that is now developing as the central urban area and business center of Japan's Tohoku region, deftly combining the advanced array of urban resources required for this new role.
Mori Trust’s Sendai Trust City is planned for the former site of the Tohoku Gakuin junior and senior high schools facing Higashi Nibancho Dori Avenue in the central district of the city of Sendai. This project, on a massive site approximately 16,500 square meters in area, is planned as a highly attractive new landmark that will serve as the face of Sendai.
The plans now being developed for this project lean toward a multi-purpose development centered on a state-of-the-art, world-class office building with advanced features, combined with The Westin Sendai as the first luxury hotel from overseas for the Tohoku district, residential properties, and commercial facilities.
For years, Mori Trust has taken part in the development of urban projects fusing the abundance of nature found on traditional first-class plots of land together with advanced urban resources. Examples of this approach include the Marunouchi Trust Tower in Tokyo’s Chiyoda Ward, the Tokyo Shiodome Building and Shiroyama Garden in Tokyo’s Minato Ward, and Gotenyama Garden in Tokyo’s Shinagawa Ward.
In addition, Mori Trust developed, owns, and operates the Sendai MT Building (located in Tsutsujigaoka in Sendai’s Miyagino Ward, with 18 above-ground and two underground floors)—at the time it was developed in 1999, Japan’s tallest building constructed using base isolation techniques.
With this project, Mori Trust seeks to make the most of the wealth of experience and expertise it has built up in development projects such as these to arrive at a development that the people of Sendai will enjoy. |
