Tokyo World Gate Born from a collaboration between Marriott International and Ian Schrager, the “EDITION” luxury lifestyle hotel brand makes its Japan debut at Tokyo World Gate, with an internationally renowned architect Kengo Kuma appointed as the designer. The arrival of “EDITION” at Tokyo World Gate will usher in a new age of sophisticated style in people’s work and private lives, helping it to serve as one of Tokyo’s new cultural hubs.

Nara Prefecture's “Omiya-dori New Hotel & Exchange Hub Project”

Nara Prefecture's “Omiya-dori New Hotel & Exchange Hub Project” Nara Prefecture's “Omiya-dori New Hotel & Exchange Hub Project” is located in the center of the northern part of Nara.
The area is also home to Todaiji Temple, Toshodaiji Temple, Horyuji Temple, ancient imperial mausoleums and other treasures of Japan. As a tourism hub, covering Nara Prefecture and other nearby prefectures, this large-scale redevelopment project is scheduled to open in the spring of 2020.
Centering on a world-class hotel, a complex of convention facilities, outdoor multi-purpose open spaces, parking, a bus terminal and the NHK Nara Broadcasting Hall (planned) will be constructed. In this project, our company obtained priority negotiation rights in December 2014 as an operator for land acquisition and development of the hotel. The finest hotel brand, the “JW Marriott Hotel Nara,” which will be Marriott International's first entry to Japan, will be invited for the planned opening in the spring of 2020.

Sapporo Odori Park Project (tentative name)

Sapporo Odori Park Project (tentative name) The development area is located in a blessed environment where the charming scenery of the seasons can be enjoyed. It faces Odori Park, which is characterized by lush greenery and is where a wide variety of events are held, such as the Sapporo Snow Festival, which boasts one of the largest audience for such an event in Japan.
We will be utilizing the top-caliber features in terms of the site location of the development area along with the approximately 2,700 square meter premises in the future to consider large-scale joint development together with foreign hotels commanding a global ability to bring in customers.

Tokyo Edition Ginza

Ginza 2-chome Hotel Project (tentative name) “Tokyo EDITION Ginza” will be located in the Ginza 2-Chome area at the center of Ginza, Japan's premiere commercial district filled with rows of luxury fashion and high jewelry brands. With Kengo Kuma involved in both the exterior and interior design, it is expected to become one of Ginza’s new shining landmarks. This luxury lifestyle hotel is sure to appeal to the area's global-minded, glamorous consumer base, making it a central hub for the formulation of new modes of cultural expression.

Hakone Naka-Gora Project (tentative name)

Hakone Naka-Gora Project (tentative name) The development area, with over 10,000 m2 of time-honored land, is in an excellent location only three minutes on foot from Naka-Gora Station on the Hakone Tozan Cablecar Line and two types of spring water quality for a hot spring experience. The project aims to re-build luxury accommodation with an open-air bath attached to each room and is considering attracting global brands.

Atami Kinomiya Project (tentative name)

Atami Kinomiya Project (tentative name) The planned location is close to JR Kinomiya Station in a tranquil area that is home to Kinomiya Shrine, which boasts a 1,300-year history. Atami Bay and Hatsushima Island can be seen off in the distance, and its elevated location also provides a splendid view of the Atami firework displays held throughout the year.
The Japanese garden highlights the changing of the seasons, and the hot spring features an ample supply of on-site spring water. The storied history of this refined neighborhood makes it the perfect setting for hosting the area’s first overseas-affiliated luxury hotel.

Hakuba Sakka Project (tentative name) The Hakuba area is internationally known for its powder snow quality and is one of the best ski resorts visited by tourists from all over the world. The land acquired for the project, located in Wadano district admired by both domestic and overseas visitors, is a prime hotel location for skiing, facing the Sakka slope in Hakuba Happo-One, also known for being a competition venue for the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano. We aim to open a luxury hotel that provides world-class services capitalizing on the site's location.

Hida Takayama Project (tentative name)

Hida Takayama Project (tentative name) Hida Takayama is a leading Japanese tourist destination sporting a rich abundance of charming tourism resources, such as the Old Town (Furui Machi Nami), which brings visitors the atmosphere of an Edo-era castle town (and is designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings), hot springs, traditional craftwork and more. The Yatai Float Festival in Takayama is described as one of the three major beautiful festivals of Japan and was registered in as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage in 2016. With this registration, Hida Takayama is anticipated to see further development in the future as a global destination for tourism.
The development area is comprised of around 4,700 square meters used for hotel development located in the central area of Hida Takayama, right next to JR Takayama Station. Tapping into the hot spring rights obtained along with the acquisition of the property, we aim to have the area’s first foreign luxury hotel open for business here.

Nara Prefecture "Yoshiki-en Area Preservation and Utilization Project"

Nara Prefecture (Yoshiki-en Area Preservation and Utilization Project) This project is being spearheaded by a coalition of government and private entities in Nara, and was selected to receive first refusal rights in March 2017. Situated at the western tip of Nara Park, home to some of Japan’s most famous sights, this top-class international hotel facility is surrounded by Kasuga-taisha Shrine, Kofuku-ji Temple, Todai-ji Temple, and other World Heritage Sites. An internationally renowned architect Kengo Kuma is lending his expertise to seamlessly meld the facility with the lush greenery and historical structures of the surrounding environment.

Okinawa Sesoko Project (tentative name)

The project location faces the 800-meter Sesoko Beach, known for its stunning sunset view and nationally famous crystal-clear waters, in the western edge of Sesoko Island, which connects to Motobu Peninsula via the Sesoko Bridge. It will consist of the timeshare resort developed by Hilton Grand Vacations as well as a Hilton hotel. With a location surrounded by numerous tourist sites, we plan to develop a resort that provides international services to meet the needs of both domestic and international travelers, including mid- to long-term guests.

Iraph SUI, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Miyako Okinawa

Iraph SUI, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Miyako Okinawa Irabu Island, one of the Miyako Islands, has been gaining recognition in recent years as an Okinawan resort thanks to various infrastructure projects, such as the opening of the Irabu Bridge linking the island to Miyako-jima. It features a double-brand hotel consisting of a new Mori Trust hotel brand, “SUI,” along with the top-class Marriot International brand “The Luxury Connection.” With the beautiful “Irabu Blue” sea and other natural splendors at our disposal, we wish to offer the world’s wealthy travelers the rich appeal of a pristine heavenly getaway.

Karuizawa Shiozawa Project (tentative name)

The development area is located in one of the closer spots to Minami Karuizawa's Shiozawa Lake in the Karuizawa area, which is a leading Japanese summer retreat destination. Located in an area that is popular with tourists, here one can enjoy various lakeside leisure activities, art museums and more. On premises of around 21,300 square meters, this development-use land comes with its own spring, providing an abundance of hot spring water.
In the Karuizawa area, Mori Trust Group holds land (including for the development area) of more than 150,000 square meters. Going forward, we plan to look into facilities also suitable for long-term stays during all seasons, such as hotels utilizing the spring sources in the development area and condominiums. On this land, we want to contribute to the further generating of allure for Karuizawa to make it an international resort destination that can be visited all-year-round.
